1) Groggy mornings in front of the mirror with my sister. Over dental floss and eyeshadow, we chat about work, boys, family and life. It’s a happy 20 minutes of my day.
2) Taking a turbo kickboxing class with my 59-year-old mother, who buys her clothes at Forever 21 and knows the names of every cast member of “The Hills.”
3) A father who TiVos the highlights of numerous television programs, just so he can replay them when the family is all together.
4) Four years of ridiculous love and disgustingness.
5) A job that allows me to be myself, do what I enjoy and meet just about every famous Korean American in the universe (OK, so there’s like 8).
6) Finneous. He’s a fish. He lives in my room. He’s also blue.
7) Pho. It soothes my soul. And then makes me bloated.
8) Secret handshakes. That’s all I’m allowed to say about that.
9) The fact that my grandma does a cheerful little jump each time she sees me, despite having two bad knees.
10) Living close enough to aunts, uncles and cousins to attend last-minute birthday parties, pre-wedding festivities and college volleyball games (and eat post-game pizza!).
11) Girlfriends. I realize their value now more than ever.
12) Being old enough to understand just how fragile everything is.
13) Being young enough to party it up on weekdays (as long as I only have 1.5 cocktails and am in bed by 11:30 p.m.)
14) Leggings. They’re trendy, they go with everything and, yeah, they’re made out of spandex. What’s not to love?
15) L.A. There’s always something new to explore (museums! burger joints! sample sales!) and always that chance you’ll see someone famous.
16) Palos Verdes Drive South. It’s bumpy and scary as heck, but it’s so pretty. I’m always in awe of the ocean view and stars (as in luminous balls of plasma, not famous people).
17) A busy social calendar.
18) Rare moments alone.
19) Flaming Hot Cheetos. The fire still burns inside.
20) “The Office” DVD sets. Oh, Michael.
21) Reese Witherspoon films. All of them.
22) Simple, yet charming songs like these.
23) The Internet. Yeah, it’s a love/hate thing.
24) Being at a stage of mobility. Sure, I may live at home with my parents, but that’s not the point!
25) Sunscreen. Nothing bad can be said about sunscreen.
26) Trying to envision my dream life and realizing it’s not a whole lot different from the life I have right now. At age 26.

Happy Birthday!
Yeah, perhaps 25 could have been, number of GMails that make no sense from friends each day. I take credit in part for number 16. Who is this number 4?! I’ll kill him!
