Dude. It’s been dead around here, huh? Sorry. I fail. Work has been really, really, really busy and my home internet connection has been really, really, really crappy, but those are WEAK reasons for being a blog slacker. I’ll make it up to you somehow. Hey, at least I didn’t pledge to do some crazy shit like blog every day for the month of November.

What I’d really like right now is more sleep. It’s so important. I used to tell Matt that my body needs at least 9 hours a night and he would say, “No, I really don’t think you do,” and then I’d bark, “YOU DON’T KNOW ME!” Now whenever we wake up together on weekends, I’ll ask, “How many hours did we sleep?” and he’ll automatically say “NINE HOURS!” without looking at a clock. He’s a liar but it’s kind of cute.

Sometimes I wonder what I might teach my future children, what life lessons I can bestow upon them, and I think one of the biggest ones is get enough sleep. I mean, I could teach them to reach for the stars or to stay away from drugs, but ambition is overrated and come on, is it really that bad if you accidentally scarf down a magic brownie at a college retreat and then start balling in front of 75 strangers because you think they’re laughing at you? Um, wait what?

I’m tired. This lack of sleep has made me whiny and dramatic and totally not hot. So, goodnight. Snore.

  1. I love, love, love sleeping. I tend to only get 5 or so hours during the week, but I definitely catch up on weekends.

  2. I. LOVE. SLEEPING.

i’m not sure when it started, i never used to sleep much at all. but now? it’s my favorite hobby. if i have 10 minutes before i have to do something? i sleep. and it’s amazing. i can fall asleep at the drop of a HAT.. this is likely because i only get about 4 hours of sleep on weeknights, so when weekends or that after work time comes, sleeping is my specialty.

  3. the title to this post is funny.

  4. I do look at the clock. I’m up three hours before you, doing my work and giving the Internet the attention it deserves. All the while you are getting your precious nine hours of sleep.

  5. i am so with you on the sleep thing, i have been lagging in the sleep department lately and i am not a fan. i just want to sleep through the night again! is that too much to ask?!
