What I wasn’t thankful for this weekend

December 1st, 2008 · 15 Comments · General

I made this little announcement on the internet a few hours ago, but Matt made me take it down for I guess what you might call valid reasons (”Don’t let people know you’re a diseased woman!”), but he’s sleeping now and I feel like posting it again as I am in sheer agony and must document my distress.

I have an effin’ UTI.

By the way, it’s not a disease, it’s an infection (okay, yeah, that doesn’t sound much better at all) and there are multiple ways of contracting it, many of which do not involve being a slore.

I’m pretty sure I got it by drinking a tad too much at Matt’s high school reunion (can you blame me?) and then drinking almost no water the next day. I felt the onset of it last night and today, it exploded to full-blown awfulness. At this point, cranberry juice can suck it.

I hate being a girl.

Girls, prevent UTIs with these tips.

Will hopefully get a doctor’s appointment tomorrow morning. Please, please, please, please.

Meh no biggie. TMI from me but I used to be susceptible to them as well. Take some motrin to take an edge off the uh… cramps. Also, there’s over the counter stuff you can get at a drugstore that helps but it turns your pee orange. :P

I only got one once. I thought I was so knowledgeable about what bad things could happen from sex, but they never, ever covered the UTI! I hope you’re feeling better soon and rocking that cranberry juice.

I think part of the takeaway message here is to avoid hs reunions. Being a girl can really suck, sometimes. :( hope you feel better soon!

Dude, for real. Every woman I know has had at least one UTI. No shame, no shame. But that is NOT fun. I’m so sorry! Skip straight past the juice (sugar is bad for a UTI) and down those cranberry pills! You can get them at a drug store probably and a health food store for sure. Feel better!

But had you not drank too much, we never would have won the dance contest! Wait, did that happen? I also drank too much.

Who knew there were so many people wanting to talk UTIs on the Internet?

    Ah!! I hate these!!

They’re SO common, but awful. Make sure you have it treated - it can become a kidney infection if you don’t have it looked after, that happened to my sister….brutal stuff!

    Feel better!

You’re going to get on those pills that turn your pee highlighter orange. It’s great.

I once invited a then boyfriend to the bathroom to check it out. Because I posted that I am not posting my name so I can remain annonymous.

Oh Mish! No. I thought we would have outgrown the UTI stage. I had them. I absolutely hate them. You were the one that introduced me to the red pills. They make me sick but they do it. Feel better!

Oh no! Hope the infection goes away quickly, and sorry if I was completely offensive the other night. Feel better!
