You Inspire Me

I have a confession.

I dream about women.

Okay, before you start gossiping on Facebook, I don’t rarely dream about them in that way. But it’s strange. I’ve been having these dreams about women whom I fiercely admire from afar. They’re people I know in some capacity, but am not particularly close to. Usually, in these dreams, we’ll talk and hang out and though I can’t remember the exact things they say, when I wake up, I feel comforted and refreshed, like they’ve just given me the best piece of advice.  Maybe they’re my alter-egos, I dunno. But it’s creepy and therapeutic at the same time.

I’m starting to channel my jealousy into something positive. The successes of others now energize me. This is such a relief because it’s the worst thing in the world to hear someone’s good news and immediately feel nauseous. Because when I think about it, it’s such a blessing to be around people who are brilliant, motivated and magnetic. Birds of a feather, right?

One of these days, I’ll have to tell these people exactly how they inspire me, how they make me want to be better. Maybe this will be my new project. Anyone wanna join?

The “You Inspire Me” Project.

Someone, make me a button.

No, really. Please?

“… it’s such a blessing to be around people who are brilliant, motivated and magnetic.”

I couldn’t agree more. I’m surrounded by such brilliant, talented people and sometimes I get down on myself about it, but really? It’s so motivating and inspiring.

Plus, I think it’s a compliment to you– I’ve heard that, statistically, we tend to be the average of the people we’re friends with. Financially, looks-wise, intelligence-wise, etc. If that’s true, then I must be pretty freaking awesome!

Also, I sincerely hope that the roundtable you lead at the 20SB Meet-up / Conference is called “Twitter Teasers & You: How to Increase Your Click-Throughs with Tantalizing Link Titles”. I’ll be in the front row.
