My dad brought a case of this stuff home from Costco one day and upon my first sip, I made a frowny face and said, “Ewww, disgusting!” But just like The Office, painful massages and Bloody Marys, there are things in life that you hate at first but quickly learn to love, and I’m glad this beverage I can’t pronounce is one of them.
I’ve tried various modes of caffeination and many have their own righteous place in my life. Red Bull is for those times when I need a quick jolt or when I’m forced to stay up past 12:30. McDonald’s iced coffee is for those eff-it-all moments when I’m already so gross that I don’t mind experiencing Hiroshima in my belly (I’m lactose intolerant) for a quick taste of heaven.
But on most days, I’m good with Ito En Teas (Oi Ocha) Japanese Green Tea. It has no sugar, no added colors or flavors and best of all, NO CALORIES. It tastes like, well, tea, and once you get over the no sugar part, it’s quite yummy and refreshing. Green tea is also a great source of antioxidants, so pretty much, it’s a win.
I do have to drink at least two cans to get my daily caffeine fix, but luckily, these bad boys come free at The Woo Residence. (Thanks, Dad!)

Green tea is also supposed to be great for getting rid of stubborn belly fat. Goodbye winter bulge!!!!
Liar liar pants on fire! I know you love edamame!
yet another reason i need a dang Costco card.
green tea = <3
Kitty – Really? I drink A LOT of these. Not sure if it’s working.
Mermanda – Haha, you’re right! Except I love the keychain edamame more than the edible edamame.
I love tea! Especially green tea and oolong. So did your dad get this at a local Costco? I’m definitely getting a box next time when I go. Another reason to love Costco…
I don’t like the tea. Please have the house stocked with Diet Coke and beer.
Yum I love that stuff! My half japanese roommate used to buy it by the case and we’d go through it like crazy.
So it’s not sweet at all or sweet but with that no calorie sweetener or something? I’m curious ;P
Ang – Yep, the local Costco!
m@ – I like both of those things too, so ok!
andhari – not sweet at all. I’m not that big on sweets (weird huh?)
woo is pretty much the best last name ever so that you can have blog post titles with Woo! in them. i knew a Woo named Mason. from Hong Kong!
this beverage looks interesting. i want to try it.
