Babble

My brain has been mushy lately. I blame it on Vegas and the a-a-a-a-a-a-alcohol, namely, my new Wonder Drink — vodka, water and a sprinkle of Crystal Light. (So hydrating! Low in calories! No hangovers!) Oh yes, didn’t I tell you? I went to Vegas last weekend. I know. I’m sorry. It’s like you don’t even know me anymore. I’ll try harder, promise.

An update:

— I went to Vegas! It was a total blast and I loved spending time with friends I hadn’t seen in a while. I also saw Jay-Z. That was OK.

— I’ve been car shopping! It’s been exciting and annoying. My phone has been ringing nonstop with super-persistent salespeople who badmouth other dealers and insist that I can only trust them. My heart still pines for the Nissan Cube and I WANT ONE NOW NOW NOW I am patiently awaiting the right deal to fit my needs.

— I’m taking a humor writing class! I had a credit for a Media Bistro course and thought, hey, I like funny. So … uh … wanna read my first assignment? We were supposed to make up funny sub-headlines to real-life news headlines. Tell me what you think (without making me cry, please).

Anyway

— I’m going to Costa Rica! At the end of the month. Hell to the yes.

— I bought some Costa Rica clothes!

— I’m totally broke now! (Hey, we’re going with the exclamation point theme here.)

— I’m working out! I’m very happy to be participating in Steph’s 30 Flippin’ Days of Fitness. The mission: 30 minutes of exercise a day for 30 days. It’s been a week and I’m still on target. I usually run on the treadmill or do a weights/sit-ups/push-ups combo, but on Friday, Matt and I got creative and decided to toss weighted balls in the air for the duration of three songs and then go to the jacuzzi and run in place. Well, I ran in place while he made sure no one was around to see that he was associated with the crazy lady flailing around in a bikini and panting. (It’s really hard when you try to run towards the jets.) Good times.

  1. I looove your cota rica clothes. I would have screamed if I saw Jay0Z. I figure you’re more normal than me lol

  2. Costa Rica sounds like a grand time. I think a humor writing class would be a lot of fun.

  3. I approve of your pink romper. I have a terry cloth lime green romper. It is famous around here.

  4. Um, I adore that hat and overalls combo, too cute.

  5. Allthewine

Um I need to know where you got those overalls. They are perfection.

  6. Allthewine: Urban Outfitters! On sale for $9.99!

  7. the Kappa Kappa Citigroup is HILARIOUS! This seems like a fun class!

my mom has been lusting after the Nissan cube too! and I’ve never even seen one. she just keeps talking about it every other day.

  8. Hilarious…love the headlines. The Swine Flu one is my favorite.

  9. I may have to jump in on the 30 Flippin’ Days of Fitness seeing as how there are exactly 34 days until my anniversary! 30 days of misery, 3 days of recoup, 1 day of hot outfit wearing … worth it!

  10. haha i love your humor class assignment, your sublines are gems.

and woo to costa rica, that is so exciting. love the costa rica outfit too, very cute.

  11. VEGAS? I coud have sowrn you were in Melbourne because I totally saw your twin on the tram the other day.

And not in the “I’m white and think all asian people look alike” way, but your dead-set, honest to goodness, looked exactly like you twin.

  12. I’m LOVING your Costa Rica clothes! So cute and summery! And you went to Vegas, too? Awesome.

It makes me SO happy that vodka + water + Crystal Light is your new fave drink. My friend Alex created that concoction for us one spring break, and my life hasn’t been the same since.

  13. @Caz, please take pictures next time.

Also, “never good enough” syndrome? Really? Inferiority complex.

The dinosaur joke killed. Good job.

  14. Costa Rica = Awesome! Went there on honeymoon last year. Would go back in a heartbeat. Though, fair forewarning, there are lots of Americans who go there, so unless you’re being dropped off in the middle of the rain forest (in which case I’d question your cute new attire), you’ll likely be sharing sandy beaches with your compatriots!

  15. aww you are so supercute! i like the dinosaur headline! have fun in costa rica!! what a blast! i’m keeping up the exclamation theme for you!

  16. i’m flying to costa rica saturday! I CAN’T WAIT!
