Everyone who follows me on Twitter is probably sick of this announcement, but I got the Cube! I’m still giddy. I think the two of us will be very happy together.
Buying my first new car was like getting a crash course in grownup decision-making. It’s kind of weird, but I’m so proud of myself for shelling out a major chunk of my life savings for something I needed/really-really-really wanted. Several people close to me weren’t happy with my car choice (yo, you’re not the one driving it!) or my impulsiveness (I first heard about the Cube just last week), but I know that if I did things any other way, I’d probably still be driving my beat-up Volvo for years to come. I just know me. You don’t know how good it feels to finally say that with confidence.
When I look at my pearly white Cube in all its cubey glory, I get a little thrill. I bought this. I know it’s not that fancy and I’ve started working extra hard to make sure I still have a day job, but it’s still worth a booyah, dontcha think?
Booyah. I’m a car owner!

I’ve had the pleasure of driving this car, and it has some pretty good speed for a tiny engine. I don’t, however, appreciate the people pulling up next to me and giving me the “oh it’s a dude” look.
