I think I was in denial before my wedding. I didn’t talk about it. I didn’t want anyone else to talk about it. I really just wanted to elope, I think.

Anyhow, my point is, I think it’s healthy to be uber excited/stressed about your wedding. It’s a big deal, and you’re supposed to put a lot of thought into it.

Since I went kind of introvert for my wedding (I was 21, maybe I was just too young and insecure), I’m planning an incredibly awesome 7 Year Itch Anniversary Bash. It will be glorious and terrible as the dawn, and I will do ALL the things I now wish I had at my wedding.

I think your statement should be revised to say, involve your fiance only if he wants to be involved. There are a lot of guys who don’t give two shits about wedding planning. To them, I say don’t involve them and everyone will be happier. But, my husband? He was actually interested. And wanted to participate. And had some pretty damn good ideas. It turned out to be fun planning a wedding together. Not for everyone, but it was for us.

The getaway car is one thing you really should have nothing to do with planning. Just leave the reception to be surprised to whatever wacky contraption your wedding party has set up for you.

i am right there with you lady, so many people bring up my wedding that i feel compelled to talk about it, haha. i mean our weddings are so interesting right? and yeah we have a sort of planner and i can’t imagine not having someone to help coordinate, especially on the day of.
