hahaha. Funny boy. I think you should go back to him and say if he’s all that concerned about the height thing, then he needs to carry you (like a groom hypothetically does over the threshold after a wedding) … only he’ll be carrying you for hours on end. Maybe he’ll reel back the height discrepancy dispute. =)
so smart, that Matt. This was an issue at our wedding too…I am not taller than Forest – unless I wear heels. So I wore flats for the wedding, but I kind of regret it. Flats just aren’t that sexy, you know? What to do, what to do.
hahahaha This is hilarious! I just read the height dilemma post and before that I didn’t realize you were an inch taller than Matt. I can totally relate — I’m not taller than John but we are basically the same exact height … (5’9″ … tall for a girl and also tall for a Mexican guy. ha!) so, just like you wrote, when we walk side by side, he can’t exactly put his arm around my shoulder because it’s totally not comfy. And I basically never ever wear heels. But it works out — because I can’t stand heels. They hurt my feet & I am so awkward in them, I can’t walk normal at all! And — here is an added benefit — we are at the perfect height to kiss standing up, rather than the guy having to bend down all awkwardly to reach the girl’s lips. I love what you said — “I’m me, he’s he and in our own clumsy way, we fit just fine. ” So cute and so true! Oh, and btw — do you feel like all the other bloggers in the world are super short and you’re a giant? Cuz that’s how I feel. ha! I need to remember to stand up straight and tall in photos rather than trying to scrunch down because it just looks silly! (Oh, and I wore cute white flats for my wedding. :) )
Haha, this made me laugh out loud. Remember the Tom Cruise and Kaite Holmes wedding pictures? He was a good inch or two tallker than she was and we all know its the other way around. If man heels are good enough for Tom Cruise, Matt should definitely consider the idea.
Haha — I can so relate. I’m 5’9″ and my husband is barely an inch taller than me, on a good day. Fortunately, he totally LOVES it when I wear heels, so I’ve begun to get more comfortable being taller than him from time to time. But anyway, in terms of the platform shoes Matt mentioned in his post: It works! My dad is also about the same height as my mom, and he wore platform shoes in their wedding, just to give him that extra bit of height to make the pictures really sing. :-)
I’m 5’11″ and Luc is 6’0″ so we’ve got the same problem! I’m going to find kitten heels (or flats…I always wear flats) for the wedding, and hopefully his dress shoes will have a nice lift! I do really enjoy your idea of standing in a hole though!! Hilarious!
haha that is an excellent solution. well hilarious at least. as for our solution, i’m just wearing flats and matt’s wearing tennis shoes and we should be about the same height and then all will be right in the world, well our world at least, haha.
