my roommate’s SIL has a ‘princess’ room that she keeps all girly-fied. i fully intend to do that someday. which means until we own a house, i’ll have to suck it up, but that’s okay if i can have my princess room someday :)

There was this beautiful pink lace and silk bedding set from DKNY that I wanted to register for when we got married, but I felt bad and registered for something that didn’t scream GIRL!!

Our tastes have actually merged a lot in the past few years…I can’t tell if he likes what I like or I like what he likes, but we’re no longer arguing over decor. Maybe he’s just given up since we do still have quite a bit of “girly” stuff around the house.

(Also, love the pom poms!)

Embrace the last few months of your girly bedroom! When my bf and I moved in together, (yes, we’re living in sin!) I had to begin replacing all my lavender bedding with a more compromising baby blue/chocolate brown combo.

Don’t worry – you’ll have control over all of the decor. Because sometimes, when your guy tries to use a red and black fleece Ottawa Senators blanket as a decorative throw on your brown leather couch, you have to put your foot down and just set the thing on fire. True, you’ll probably have to tone down the girl-factor a touch, but places like the bathroom are a good spot to get away with extra girly frills.

The key for us has been that when we bought our house, we had two ‘office’ areas. One is our mutual office, and one is my craft room. My craft room that I can do whatever I like with.

It’s so wonderful! I think going to hang poufy balls up in there just because I can.
