A conversation I had with my friend Jenny, a real-life bartender, about serving beer and soda at our wedding.
Me: Should bartenders pour bottles into glasses or is it okay to just hand people the bottles?
Jenny: Just give people the bottles. You weren’t under the impression your friends were classy people were you?
Me: We want semi-classy!
Jenny: With the right set up, even grabbing drinks from a cooler can be classy. It could be really cute if you had huge tins filled with ice, flowers and bottles of beverages.
Me: Yeah, maybe. But there is a thin line between charming and ghetto.
Jenny: Charming is just ghetto dressed up to go out.
Me: Hahaha, there is a blog post in here somewhere I’m sure.

Haha, so true. Your friend is a wise lady.
so, so true. before we decided to do the destination thing, we were going to do a back yard wedding with a keg and bottles in hammered tin buckets. :)
i’ll have you know that i am classy. i may have been the only person drinking beer during jess’ wedding ceremony but at least i ducked each time i took a swig from the bottle. love you.
HAHAHA true. We all could dress up real nice but then when there are boozes and dancing involved..well..:P
we’re serving beer from a tap and using mason jars for glasses. . . charming or ghetto? :-)
So keg stands are still charming as long as we hold the girls’ dresses up as they do them? Gotcha.
lol I really love this.
Even more because you used the G word ;)
Is the G Word “Greece”? Because that’s where we are going for Matt’s bachelor party. This way he won’t even need a Honeymoon after. OPA!!!
i like how you’re blogging more often now. it’sa niiiice~
i totally agree that bars can be dressed up and getting beers from a cooler can be classyish. but i do agree, a fine fine line between charming and ghetto.
I like the beer in mason jars idea.
Hilarious, and ever so true.
hahah charming IS ghetto dressed up. Love it.
aaaahaha!!! this conversation was hysterical! SO true.
