While in Vegas this weekend for one of my BFF’s bachelorette party, our group of bridesmaids saw Bridesmaids. (Yes, we went to the movies in Vegas—but don’t worry, we did a whole lotta non-bloggable activities too, winky wink.) Anyway, Kristen Wiig is my new girl crush. You just gotta watch her. Also, I have not been able to get Wilson Phillips’ “Hold On” out of my head for three days straight. And I’m okay with that.

I am so amazed by the opportunities that have come simply by having this blog. Who woulda thunk? I mean, you buy a domain name, start rambling about your weird ailments and crazy behaviors, and the next thing you know, you’re being flown to Oklahoma to film a webisode with the legendary Pioneer Woman. Holy cow.

Yep, I made the spastic announcement on Twitter last week, and can now expand a bit. In just a couple weeks, I’ll be meeting The Pioneer Woman, aka Ree Drummond, aka the green acres goddess who puts every housewife in America to shame. I’ll be joining blogger Susan Wagner on an episode of Putting It All Together, a lifestyle series produced by BlogHer and sponsored by Macy’s. The video project is all about putting it together: your house, your closet, your life.

And yep, it’s being filmed at Ree’s ranch in Oklahoma! You know, where the wind comes sweepin’ down the plain. (Come on, I just had to. Now excuse me while I do I side leap.) It’ll be a whirlwind trip, though I did promise my friend Jenny that I’d try to bring home a cowboy for her. She said a signed cookbook will also do.

Here’s where you come in. Our episode will be about giving back. We’ll be talking about all the things that you—our readers—are doing to help your communities. I’ve participated in programs such as Girls on the Run, and I donate when I can to individuals and organizations I feel a connection with, but I know I can be doing a lot more. Life has been really good to me lately. I need to pay it forward.

I’d love to hear your ideas for giving back. Please share them with me in the comments and I might give you a little shout-out on the show.

Well, I don’t know about ever, but here are a few guys I think are pretty dreamy. You’re totally gonna judge me.

I love me some Kobe. I think he has the perfect head. That sounds weird, I know.

My celeb-crush on actor Daniel Henney is a bit inappropriate since I interviewed him for work. But-but-but swoooon.

Oh, I can’t resist that British cockiness. I even wrote him a poem.

I was able to muster up enough strength and walk downstairs to the living room and collapse on the couch there. The one perk of weekday sickness is bad TV. I flipped through the channels and landed on a “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ marathon. Yessss.

You guys, I watched like 10 episodes in a row. That statement right there is more legit than a doctor’s note. I was really, really sick.

They were doing this whole retrospective thing because the very last Jon & Kate episode would air later that night. Gosh, it was the cutest, happiest show back in its early days, wasn’t it? Kate with her crazy and Jon with his sarcasm and the kids with their quarter-Asian adorableness — it was all so endearing. They were Just Like Us.

But of course, we all know how their story unfolds.

So I had to watch the final episode just because I had invested so much of my day into this mindlessness. Unsurprisingly, it was a train wreck. So much tension. So much hate.

Sigh.

Why can’t they just love each other?

I spent the rest of the night being mad at Jon, thinking things like: How can you eff up your family like that? You’re not “only 32.” You’re already 32! Man up! And come on, just stop with the Ed Hardy, will ya?

I get way too emotionally involved in celebrity couple breakups, particularly married couple breakups. When Brad and Jen split, I was devastated. When Nick and Jessica called it quits, I cried (and am still holding onto hope that they’ll maaaaaaybe one day get back together).

It all makes me so sad. And it makes me think about marriage. (It’s kinda sad that this is what finally gets me thinking about marriage, but whatever.)

Why didn’t these couples last? What went wrong? Could it have been prevented? What would they have done differently?

When they were engaged and planning their weddings, I’m sure she thought, “I’m in love and he’s The One and OF COURSE this is forever.” I’m sure he drove over to her house on a Monday night just to pet her head when she was sick with the stomach flu.

What makes their relationship so much different than ours?

(Let’s hope it’s fame and beauty and fortune, cuz we’ve got none of that.)

Look at that face! Isn’t it the cutest patootiest thing you’ve ever seen? I must admit, I don’t think he should win it all and I haven’t always been a crazy fan because you know, there’s Adam, who’s like holy wowza, and then there’s Anoop, who I’m sort of programed to root for because as my parents always say, “Asian Alert!” but for this moment, can we all just watch Kris Allen one more time and swoon? Heeeee.

Also, that song! It’s so lovely. It’s called “Falling Slowly” and it’s from the indie film Once, which I gotta say, despite all the internet acclaim, totally bored me. It was so slow and her nose was so big! But the music was charming, especially this song. Check out the soundtrack.

Y’all watch Idol, right? Who should win?
