Hear this.

The first time I saw the name Priscilla Ahn was on Facebook. Several months ago, Matt P (the other Matt P) had updated his status to “I will marry Priscilla Ahn” and I was intrigued. I Googled her, found out she’s a folksy singer/songwriter and liked what I heard on her MySpace.

Fast forward to today and you can find Priscilla’s debut album, A Good Day, in stores, on iTunes and wherever else you buy music. She’s being called “the next Norah Jones.” And she’s going to be on Leno tomorrow night.

AND, ahem, she’s on the cover of this month’s KoreAm Journal:

Sweetness.

Tonight, a group of us went to catch Priscilla’s album release show at Hotel Cafe. She rocked it. Listening to her, I kept thinking, Dude, this chick is going to be HUGE.

So thanks to Matt P and Facebook for the tip. Thanks to John for writing a great story. Thanks to Eric for taking beautiful photos. And thanks to Priscilla for being awesome, gorgeous and half Korean.

MC

I just listened to Mariah’s Carey’s new “Bye Bye” song (thanks to Di!) and I think I’m ready to like her again. I mean, yeah her shirts were a little too tight and her skirts were a little too short when she was a little too fat, but it’s OK. She’s been so good for so long. She’ll always be a part of me. In-def-in-ite-ly. Doo doo doo dah. Doo doo doo doo doo doo dah.

TIP: If you ever feel like you need a quick popularity boost, add your name to the media list for LA Fashion Week. For several days straight, you will get an e-mail every five minutes inviting you to fashion shows, meet-and-greets, after-parties — oh my! It’s so much fun. Yeeeeah, not really. (I get it! You love me! Now, how do I unsubscribe??)

Aside from the inbox flooding, Fashion Week (or, for me, Fashion Day) was indeed so much fun. I got to hang out backstage at the Voom by Joy Han show. It was sheer, awesome chaos. I felt like I was trapped in an episode of Behind the Scenes with Access Hollywood. And yes, despite being a ‘serious journalist,’ I totally hid in the corner and snapped some pics with my point and shoot. Don’t judge me. Blame the reflexes.

Models trying on shoes. P.S. Those girls are tall. I’ve never felt so short and stumpy in my life.

The show itself.

The press release promised big stars like Nick Lachey! Jessica Biel! Patrick Dempsey! Sadly, they were nowhere to be found. Instead, I saw …

A blurry Cheetah Girl. Eh.

Tatyana Ali, a.k.a. Ashley Banks (Nice zooming action if I must say so myself)

And …

The guy from Entourage! (No, not the Korean one again.) Dude, I got way close. You can almost see his nose hairs. Go paparazzi Michelle!

Audrey’s Fashion Fusion ’07 (a.k.a. Why My Job Rules)

Audrey magazine’s 2nd annual fashion show took place on Friday night at the Petersen Automotive Museum. As one of L.A.’s ultimate Asian American events, it was filled with Crown Royal cocktails, “up and coming” celebs and hours of shameless picture-taking. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Here’s me with cutie patootie Aaron Yoo of “Disturbia.”

“Survivor” winner Yul Kwon walked down the runway shirtless. Grin. Life is good.

Lorenzo and Matt ran into an old high school buddy: Kev Nish of Far East Movement!

Here’s Audrey and KoreAm publisher James (center) with a cornucopia of Asian celebs (that’s Bai Ling in the big bangs and short skirt).

Me and Alice with “Heroes” sidekick James Kyson Lee.

The hosts of the show, Leonardo Nam (the Asian guy on “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” and Lindsay Price (the Asian girl on “90210″).

Rex Lee of “Entourage” struts his stuff on the runway. Work it!

Almost forgot. Clothes were modeled as well.

Me and the Audrey girls.

Having a good time: Viv, Spencer, Mirei and me.

Does it always happen like this?

From the August issue of W magazine (girls, go get a copy and try not to lick the pages):

Almost a decade after their wedding, David tells the story of their first encounter with ardor that still seems fresh. Even before they met, he says, he knew Victoria was the one for him. He recalls watching TV after a match with his Manchester United teammate Gary Neville late in 1996 when a Spice Girls video came on. Spotting Victoria in a catsuit, he was transfixed: “I turned around to Gary and said, ‘That one there, that’s the girl I’m going to marry.’ “

Really? Posh in a catsuit? Hmmm. Where can I get one of those?
