To help get people excited about M&M’s Premiums (chocolate, mmmm), BlogHer asked me to host a contest to celebrate the delectable, can’t-eat-just-one candy aisle goodies. They’re yummy — kinda like traditional M&M’s but richer, creamier and prettier! No really, these things are seriously pretty, like iridescent gemstones that glimmer in the light. If they weren’t perishable, I’d totally make necklaces and sell them a street fairs. Hey, we’re in a recession.
For the contest, they’re letting me pick the question. [Evil smirk.]
The first one that popped in my head was, “Whose mouth would you most want to melt in?” but after pondering it for all of 7 seconds, I immediately realized, um, ew! (Though if you do have an answer to that, e-mail me. I’m weirdly curious.)
Then I thought of something much sweeter:
What makes you melt?
Tell me in the comments and you could get hooked up with a basket containing:

When my 3.5-year-old and I are arguing, like we often do because he’s 3.5 going on 14, and I am 37 going on 14, sometimes he will say “I forgive you!” That makes me melt and takes it all away.
When my boyfriend has to stay up working on his computer, he still lies down and snuggles with me until I fall asleep – that makes me feel so loved, and I do get a little melty inside!
Also, hot stone massages.
My husband gently rubbing my cheek with the back of his hand………
When my daughter sees me eating and she just looks at me and says “Hi” because she wants to share.

Okay, my melty things are:
Golden retriever puppies…there’s just something about them that is too cute to resist.
When I’ve had a bad day and my boyfriend rubs my head.
And, I’m not being cliched, I SWEAR, but chocolate. There is nothing better than dark chocolate after a really crappy day. I have a bag of it in my desk at work and there have been plenty of days when I’ve pulled out the chocolate and felt immediately relaxed.
Instead of just giving you ONE cute thing, I give you an endless array of ‘cute things falling asleep’
http://www.cutethingsfallingasleep.org/

Seeing my husband smile, still makes me melt. We still have romance in our lives, even though we have been married for 15 years and have kids running everywhere. I feel I can’t make everyone happy, so if I see my husband smile, I know things are gonna be alright.
When my 17 year old daughter wants to spend time with me (anyone with an older teen can understand this one).
When my (unsentimental) husband stops by the side of the road to pick me a wildflower bouquet.

It feels great to know that someone is actually noticing the little things that make me ME.

When my 10 year old cat is sleeping with her paw curled around her ears, and doesn’t do anything but twitch in her sleep a bit when I pick her up, or when she decides she’s still a kitten and paws at my face until I’ll play fetch with her.
When I come home late and he’s left a bowl of berries or ice cream out for us to share (and he’s waited for me to start eating it).
When he rubs my neck and belly when I’m not feeling well, and gets me breakfast, lunch, and dinner while still acting good-natured and energetic.
When he hugs me after I’ve been with a cat and pretends he’s not suddenly allergic to me (even though he’s sneezing and his eyes are bright red).
